Mad Men Barbie and Ken in New York Times!
Mar 10 2010, 9:20 AM EST
Have you seen this???http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/10/business/media/10adco.html This month, for our March/April issue, I collaborated with some One-Of-A-Kind doll artists to create our own custom MAD MEN dolls, wearing fashions directly from the TV show, along with an amazingly detailed miniature diorama of Don Draper's office (COMPLETE with cocktails and cigarettes). Here are links to the sneak previews I have on my web site www.mawphoto.com http://www.flickr.com/photos/mawphoto/sets/72157623232424794/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/mawphoto/4284030852/sizes/o/in/set-72157623232424794/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/mawphoto/4421792545/sizes/o/ Feel free to share these links with any friends or colleague who may be interested in MAD MEN and/or the Mattel version of the dolls, especially any one who may be blogging about the dolls, and wondering where one could find miniature martini's and Lucky Strikes ; ) Thanks, Michael Williams Do you find this valuable?

they are so awesome! A bit pricey, but I have to at least get Don. Do you find this valuable? |

Don seems to be missing his perpetual 5 o'clock shadow, which on the show adds even greater studliness. Also Joan's rack seems to have been scaled back a bit. Maybe they were worried about some kid putting out both his eyes. Still, pretty cool overall, but like you said - pricey. I don't know if I'm secure enough in my masculinity to start a Barbie collection, even if it would be of only Mad Men versions. :-)

LOL, no Barbie collection in your future, Seth? Oh, and my husband said the same thing about Joan! "Ahem, the redhead is not anatomically correct, so I may have to pass..."

No probs, I read that Mattel are not going to issue them with fags and Martini's this isn't a concern as I'll buy some 6th scale fags and Martini glasses (or copy them from my bond set. I already have a cocktail shaker from the Dr. No box). As for that part of Joan that people admire, I think her legs and bum are better myself, that is easy, well for me it is as my partner sculpts stuff in Milliput, I'm allergic to it and have to stay away, I'll just supervise ;).If I do manage to get them I might post up a simple "how to" for your conversions. Maybe another way would be to buy a budget Cy Girl and use the alternative breasts that are rather larger and swap heads. Watch this space!!! I won't buy Roger, just use a 100w Osram!
