Oh, I disagree. I think this show has tons of symbolism. Every shot, every line and each piece of the stylish set is so *deliberate* in Mad Men. I think it's fun to find metaphors, even if we know that the creators may not have intended ALL of these...

Hm, I don't know, it's a bit like looking at a piece of modern art, you can read into it anything you want, and some would say no opinion is wrong. It would be interesting to know what is intended and what isn't. Some on the list just seem like a bit of a stretch.
