John Deere Responds to Mad Men

Ha! If you haven't read this yet, check out Green-Arrow's latest entry on our Mad Men Blog:

So, the John Deere Massacre of 1963 *wasn't* an odd bit of product placement. I honestly thought they approved it! BTW, the warning label is brilliant and I'm seriously thinking about printing a few of them on some sticker sheets and putting them on our lawn mower.

It's funny that they thought it necessary to come out and say that. :-)

Those labels are classic, and can help to identify the true believers.

That is a classic sticker. life and art are inseparable. when I worked at a photo processing studio, we had just started up, an one of the bosses had to take very early retirement as he lost his fingers cleaning his lawnmower. Totally true!!!
It doesn't surprise me as these sorts of things can happen to anyone....

Yes it is the John Deere Lawn and Garden Tractor model 110 which was introduced in 1963.

OMG, that's a horrible story, NovemberNeaton! It's so weird that you replied to this thread because I just finished mowing my backyard with our John Deere riding mower. We bought it over the weekend -- it's also from the 100 series.

I have to print off a warning sticker for this thing. Do not use for office parties! :)
