Hello everyone. :)I found this place through Twitter and I'm really glad that I have. The only other source I had for "fans" was a movie/television show site. This place feels a lot more comfortable. Nobody I know (not even my husband) really likes the show all that much. I started watching when the 2nd season was about to start. I just so happened to turn the television on RIGHT when they were going to start the marathon of Season 2. John Slattery caught my attention as the cast playfully spoke about the show. As I watched I recognized "Peggy". I loved Elisabeth Moss in Girl, Interupted so I was officially hooked to Mad Men. I admit when I first heard about the show, when the first season first aired, I thought it was a bit too slow for me. So, I'm really glad I caught it on that very day. If you catch it from the beginning of a season, it's pretty easy to get into and get addicted to.. I love the show because it's neat to see how life was back then, the little differences. Mainly how people worried less about things than they do these days. Do you find this valuable? |

Hi, I found this site by googling "mad men wiki". I'm from Germany, so please excuse me if some of my sentences might seem a bit hard to read.I started watching Mad Men because of its connection to Sopranos (mainly Matthew Weiner). I love the way both series are realistic in portraying complex characters but still use poetic (hence slightly unrealistic) elements when it enhances the viewing experience (like the parallels between the different "emergencies" taking place at the same time in last season's finale, Betty's dream of the suitcase etc). I'm also glad that Mad Men doesn't contain the violence and gangster environment of the Sopranos, because a) I think it's too distant from normal life (of > 95% of all viewers) and therefore makes it harder to connect to the characters and b) I think that, sadly, at least some of the Sopranos' success was related to this and many viewers didn't really care for the character drama but only for the next "cool whacking". These are exactly the people that don't watch Mad Men because it's "too boring" and thus can''t divert the discussions to the alleged lack of action. I guess my favorite character is Peggy because I have the feeling she's always trying to do the right thing. But the series is great in making you symathize with every character at certain moments (and then again, distant to them in others), so this changes a lot. My favorite non-Weiner TV-series are Arrested Development and Lost, my favorite movies are Back to the Future (dating back from childhood), There Will Be Blood and everything written by Charlie Kaufman. I really like the site so far and I hope that the forum will fill up with discussions once season 3 starts. Do you find this valuable? |

Hello. I'm new to Mad Men. I bought the DVDs out of curiosity a year ago for my husband and we just got around to watching. We watched S1 last week and already ordered S2. We'll be done next week, but already we can't wait for S3! Great show and it's rare that both of us find one we enjoy together.

i also found this site on twitter......everything about this show is quality, and i would like to kiss whoever is in charge of sets/props...finally a period show that gets it right! there are no distracting items from the wrong era turning up on here. i think the whole cast is excellent, but my favorite character is pete campbell, i could watch him for hours, he's such a pretty mess. i seriously can't wait until next month ♥ Do you find this valuable? |

When the boss sez "Introduce yourself" you better well say "hey, here's my resume" ;-) Anyways, just call me bigpix2000 also on twitter as @bigpix2000, child of "that generation" with dreams that still have stuff from "then." Love the show, love the cast, love the online effort and little twitter community behind it ... see you all in the funny papers! Do you find this valuable? |

Actually, this is my first fan website membership. I'm a fan on Facebook, and I saw a link to win Season Two DVD on the Mad Men page, so I signed up. I adore the show.

Hello,Love, love Mad Men, although I came to the show late--caught an episode midway through Season 2 and went out and immediately purchased the box set of Season 1. Finally saw all of season two by taping repeats at midnight on AMC. Got my sister hooked on it as well. Love the fashions on the show and wish we were still a country that wore hats! I'm also a huge fan of Breaking Bad and True Blood--when TV is done right, there is nothing better! Looking forward to season 3. MadWVU Do you find this valuable? |

That's what we did, but we finally broke down and opened S1 to watch. We immediately bought S2 so we had no break in viewing. I don't know how we're going to go 3 weeks before S3! We'll be done with S2 tonight. I think I actually like S2 better and can't wait for S3. So genius, and it's rare that my husband and I find a show we both enjoy and can discuss.
