Jane: "I've heard your toast a million times. The president is dead. And I'll tell you something else: our table has no one at it." Roger: "I consolidated the tables!"

Betty: "Oh my God! Oh my God!" Don: "What happened?" Betty: "They shot him! The police were walking him through the building and some man ran up and shot him." Don: "What?" Betty: " WHAT IS GOING ON?!"

- In the wake of losing out to Ken, Pete reconsiders taking Duck up on his offer to join Grey.
- Peggy is still involved with Duck. Just before she arrives at his hotel room, he catches a glimpse of news of the Kennedy assassination, but quickly turns off the TV so as to not let anything interfere with their tryst.
- Roger Sterling's daughter Margaret's wedding goes on as planned despite the assassination of JFK, the day before -- but fewer than half the invited guests actually show.
- After surviving his daughter's fiasco of a wedding and putting his drunk wife to bed, an exhausted and depleted Roger calls Joan for comfort.
- Overwhelmed by all the traumatic news, Betty goes to see Henry. He asks her to marry him.
