My first thoughts on this episode (a bit late).

At the risk of stating the obvious - this episode is called “Chinese Wall” following an expression Faye made in the last episode when she was referring to the separation of work and personal life.

The episode does seem to look at work and personal lives of the characters – but then, what episode does not?

I guess the main relevant plot point is that Don shocks Faye by asking her to abandon her professional confidentiality and that eventually she does so out of love for him.

However there are other breaches in the wall.
Pete has his father-in-law as a client, Don accuses him of being distracted by his baby, and there is the usual array of office romances. You might stretch the point and see that Stan’s choice to not tell Peggy about the lipstick on her teeth was a case where personal feelings interfered with work.

Finally, at the memorial service, we get to see what happens when work dominates over family live. The eulogists are trying too hard to tell the widow and child how the Company Man was thinking about his family. From the look on their faces they were not buying it!
