oh,I am unsure. She's a bit experimental, not her usual careful self. Sleeping with Duck, moving to Manhattan, and stepping to Don on the sly for a raise. I think she is testing her boundaries this season. I really want to believe that Roger still cares about Joan! Maybe he's reaching out to her because he's discontent at home. I don't know, what do you guys think?

I think there are definitely similarities between the two women, and I think Roger sees that he made a mistake with Jane.
It's also interesting to point out that while Joan was moving on with her life and marrying Dr. A-Hole , Roger felt the need to change too. Sometimes I think Roger chose Jane out of spite. I like the choice of name for "Jane"-- similar yet can never quite be "Joan".
I don't think Roger will divorce Jane--at least any time soon. But I predict that there will be intimacy yet again between Roger and Joan!

I think he is going to go postal and use it on Cosgrove in the office. The blood spatter scenes and Joan's bloody dress symbolizes someone death to me. I'm not sure if it's Cosgrove but if there should be gunfire when the smoke clears i know Pete will be still standing.

"Boy, she didn't bat an eye when Pete turned around and saw her at the dress store. You know she was mortified, as she is supposed to be living the high life as a doctor's wife. Still, she handled it so smoothly... she has the skills of Don in that regard." She was slightly flustered, but recovered quickly. It seemed to me that Pete was not convinced, but maybe I'm giving him too much credit. She is not quite up to Don's level, but he's had much more practice.

What does Don want from life?

We've been discussing last week's episode and how Betty was much more affected by the Roman holiday than Don. She probably wants to travel, without children, and experience the world. She feels trapped in her domestic life with a less-than-faithful husband.
But what does Don want? He already has professional success, a family, money, etc. And yet, he still seems discontent with life. What more could he have?

"Hey, November '63 is coming up. Don Draper goes on a business trip... becomes the second gunman on the grassy knoll?" They should totally do that! :-) You know how people (at least those of a certain age) know where they were when JFK was shot? Don would get all evasive and shifty-eyed...

Are you getting the impression Joan is concerned she landed a dud? She seemed pretty alarmed that he botched a surgery and that the other ladies at the party were thrilled he landed a catch like her. I don't see this marriage lasting!

She thought he was pretty much the perfect guy, but obviously not. I'm surprised she stayed with him after that incident at the office. That was the 60s I guess.

Don just may lose this one. Betty is stubborn and irrational - a delightful combination really. Especially when you add the booze. Let's hope she doesn't have a night out with the girls and go see 'Valley of the Dolls.'

It will be interesting to see if they deal with post-partum depression or even psychosis on the show! She's certainly a candidate for it right now. Already depressed, no support group, doesn't even want this baby, etc. PPD is a misunderstood condition even today, so imagine how women were treated in the 60's!

OMG, my husband and I were just talking about that over dinner. What a catty exchange they had in the office! Her comment about losing weight, saying she gets a "nose bleed" above a certain street number. Gah, I would have liked to have seen Joan stub her cigarette out on Jane's stupid hat. :D

Ugh, is anyone else annoyed by Betty constantly blaming her pregnancy for why she can't do anything? "How can you talk to me like that while I'm in this condition?" and "I can't drive right now in this condition!" She seemed more than pleased with the guy flirting with her at Roger's garden party. I wonder if that will lead anywhere...
